-The Muppet Christmas Carol-

With a grumpy Michael Caine as Ebeneezer Scrooge and a ever optimistic Kermit the Frog how could you go wrong? The narration is by Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat. Note how big Rizzo's belly grows throughout the film, he is always eating. So make some Pop'n Corn (as the Swedish Chef would say),  Wassail, curl up with a warm blanket and your loved ones for a wonderful rendition of Charles Dickens classic tale, The Christmas Carol. With the charming Miss Piggy and her family share the true meaning of Christmas Spirit. Timmy Cratchit will melt your heart with his heart of gold.

Wassail Recipe:

  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 1-1/2 cups orange juice
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
  • Dash ground cinnamon
  • Dash ground cloves

  • Directions
  • In a large saucepan, combine all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Discard cinnamon sticks. Serve hot in mugs. Yield: 10-12 servings (2-1/2 quarts).

Why, Why, Why?

I will be reviewing old and new films, books and restaurants.

Why old movies? Because classic films can make you appreciate simplicity in older movies. Without CG and special effects, you get George Lucas great film series like Star Wars. Live sets and real people.

Why restaurants? What is better than dinner and a movie? I enjoy eating and watching a movie at the same time either at home or Alamo Drafthouse.

Why Books? Because books often make the best movies. Some of the greatest stories have come alive on screen and takes storytelling to another level.
